Mimosa Madness

It's been a while since I've updated. Wedding invitations through July have officially been completed, delivered, and hopefully mailed. I am now beginning to work on reception items to accompany the summer weddings and have completed Save the Dates and beginning production on early fall weddings. I feel so blessed this bridal season to have so many wonderful clients. It means the world to me to be apart of a couple's big day in such a special way. I truly love what I do!
Today, I thought I'd finally share a collage of my best friend's bridal shower.  The event was held in a gorgeous NYC apartment and the theme was Mimosa! The day was gorgeous and I loved the bright colors. I created custom invitations with a fun orange pattern paper and a yellow ribbon accent as well as custom decorations.  Check out the cool centerpiece idea I found online-  placing sliced oranges in a large vase and filling it with big white flowers!

Have a great day,

2010 Wedding Peaks

In a previous post I mentioned that blue was a very popular trend in wedding colors this year and while that is very true (I am currently working on 6 weddings that incorporate blue in one shade or another) the only other color with as much popularity this season is PINK!

I would love to share with you my first invitation of the 2010 Bridal Season. Normally, I would wait for the big day to pass but this particular wedding is 1) a destination wedding and 2) these invitations were only being distributed to family and friends overseas.. so I thought it would be safe to share it with everyone.

Loralie and Rich's custom pocket invitation combines light pink and fuschia metallic with
chocolate brown. The invitation was closed with a gorgeous belly band cut from Japanese cherry blossom paper.  This invitation is both sweet and elegant and showcases one of my favorite pink combinations: pink and chocolate brown.. classic and chic :)

Other Favorite Pink combinations:
Raspberry Pink + Orange
Hot Pink + Navy Blue
Coral + Cappuccino
Light Pink + Sand
Hot Pink + Kiwi Green

2010 Bridal Trends

Hi Everyone! Today I am excited to share a special blog post by my friends over at Glass Slipper Weddings and Events in Matawan, NJ. I thought their blog on this years trends was really fantastic and would like to share it with all of you! If you are looking for great wedding planners or day of coordinators be sure to visit their site and check out their great work.

2010 Bridal Trends We Love!- By Glass Slipper Weddings and Events

2010 is now in full swing, and already there are some cute, sassy, and fun wedding trends emerging. Here are a few that we're definitely in love with:

1. Wedding shoes in bold colors or prints. Whether it's hot pink, leopard print, or gingham, brides are letting a little personality peek through under the white skirts.

2. Birdcage veils. We love the retro, glamourous look of a delicate birdcage veil. Add in some pastel feathers or a vintage-look ornament to complete the look. It's timeless and yet so modern.

3. Useful favors. Couples today are eschewing the little bag of jordan almonds in favor of must-haves such as purse hooks, cute bottles of sunscreen, personalized water bottles, sewing kits, or even keyboard dusters! Finally, a wedding favor that your guests will keep for years.

4. The return of the "getaway dress." It's the end of the reception - time to change into a gorgeous new outfit for your "getaway"! This dress can be any color, not necessarily white, and adds a fun twist to the reception dress idea.

Thank you to Rachael and Heather at the Glass Slipper for this awesome post! Feel free to leave me a comment with your favorite wedding ideas or trends!

Happy Wedding Planning,
Kelly

Best of 2009

While working with some of my clients for 2010 Bridal season, I have noticed a few trends. Pink, in all shades from pastel, to magenta, and coral have been a common thread in many of the invitations I've been working on.  The second color trend I've noticed this season is blue. And while I am not quite ready to share with you what I am currently working on, I would love to share with you one of my favorite "blue" weddings from this past year, Christina and Patrick.
Christina and Patrick's wedding took place in September at the Dolce, Basking Ridge. The couple wanted to incorporate elements that reflected their personalities, clean, modern, and elegant. I created a custom invitation set, save the date cards, and a creative reception booklet placed at each setting. While, this set was simple, it definitely had an impact and is one of my personal favorites from 2009.

For anyone who is not sure what color scheme to chose for their upcoming wedding or event, blue is a great choice, whether you chose cobalt, teal, navy, baby, or sapphire blue works for almost every season! Pair it with black like Christina and Patrick, for a modern twist.

Other favorite blue combinations:
Navy Blue paired with Bright Pink
Sapphire Blue paired with Teal
Spa Blue paired with Chocolate Brown
Cobalt Blue paired with Yellow and Lime

Stay Tuned for more favorites from 2009..
